My company use Symantec anti-virus version 10 ( Win XP ) and Norton ver 7.5 ( Win98 ).
There are many viruses that Symantec & Norton cannot detect.
I have tried Malwarebytes FREE version and Superantispywares FREE version.
Both are good at removing spywares & adwares but not effective against viruses & trojans.
I have also use McAfee and AVG FREE version, but their detection rates are not as good as Clamwin.
In the end, I have to use Clamwin portable anti-virus to move the virus to quarantine and submit the virus samples to Symantec. Making the Symantec sales personals face red.
Therefore, Clamwin is not the worst antivirus. The worst anti-virus is the company that spent more on marketing rather than improving the detection ability of their products.
Clamwin is very light weight and not bloated as other anti-virus program.
Currently, at home, I am using Threat Fire & Spybot as main defend and Clamwin as secondary defend.
1) ThreatFire provide real time protection against malwares.
2) Spybot provide real time protection for registry.
3) Clamwin scheduled scan daily for viruses & trojans.
4) Netdefender Firewall.
