Hey all,

Does the portable ClamWin the MBR section of the harddisk? Or is that not possible?

Kind regards,

I do not think any version of Clam/ClamWin scans the MBR. Clam AV is strictly a file scanner, and ClamWin is based on Clam AV. Try the free version of Malwarebytes, AniVir, or Avast. You can also scan with an antirootkit program like F-Secure's Blacklight. I like Blacklight because it will tell you of any hidden files and ask you if it is okay to rename them. Once they are renamed, you can then delete them. Not all hidden files are "evil." You should verify any hidden file before you rename and delete it, however. Sophos Antirootkit will give you a recommendation to delete or keep a hidden file.

MBR viruses are not that common.
