I downloaded latest version of Clamwin

and then tried to run it and now I keep getting "No handler found for image type." WHAT? does THAT! mean? Everything I try to do to fix things just makes it worse.

That's strange. Did you download it from the official ClamWin page--the one you see just before you selected these forums? If not, delete what you have and download it from there. If you did download it from the ClamWin page, delete it and try another download/install.

then after I restarted--it didn't work. Then this am when I got up my puter had shut itself off in the night and when I started it back up---and ran Clamwin--it worked right and scanned anad old Trojan wasn't there--thanks for your help.
But my Java and ActiveX don't work right anymore. Making me E&$^*)&$%##&_(&^%^%$

I don't think that ClamWin had anything to do with Active-X/Javascript problems--unless there was a false positve(s) and some needed Active-X/Javascript files were deleted. A false positive happens when ClamWin thinks a file is infected but it is not.

This could be the case. If you have ClamWin set to Quarantine virus files, check the Quarantine directory, and any files that were quarantined will be there. The location of the Quarantne directory is usually in the same folder that the Database (DB) directory is in. You may be able to tell from the scan reports what directory the quarantined files were originally in, so you could remove the "infected" from the filename in Quarantine and restore (move/copy) to the original directory. If you restore them, check to see if Active-X/Javascript work.
