I'm more curious than anything, I know the developers of this most excellent program are working hard and I certainly don't want to add to their plate.
I haven't seen anyone mention this error on the forum, but I may have just overlooked it.

An Error occured whilst scanning: scanfile: no Database loaded

Here's an image of the error:

https://www.postimage.org/

I get the error when it's scanning outlook 2007 email. I finally went in and disabled the email scan, but I would prefer to have it.

I've run the database update and verified the database is being downloaded and updated. Unless of course there are two databases, one for the autoscan of email and another for scanning the HD.

Lemme think, info you may need if you so desire to diagnose this little issue:
A DELL desktop,
OS = XP pro, SP3
Mem = 3Gig
Office2007

I figure this'll probably be fixed in the next release, so I'm in no hurry to push this issue.

I'd more like to just say Thank you for putting this together and making a great program. This runs so much better than the purchasable memory/CPU hogs out there (Norton, McAfee, etc.) and, ... it works. Unfortunately, there are certain features with Norton and McAfee that do not work properly.
So again, Thank you for a wonderful program.

OK, this has become more serious than I first thought.
I now have a "Malformed Database" and the scanner will not scan anything.

Here is the info from my 'database update report' showing the database is being updated (unless I'm reading this wrong):

Here is my 'Virus scan report':

I went and reinstalled the latest software 0.96.0.1 and updated the database, but there is no change, still the error.

Anyone have any suggestions ??
Can I go back to a previous release that I know was working for me ?? (If it's posted, I deleted the download - DOHT !!)

Thank you for your thoughts and help.

Deleting the main and daily database files and then doing a manual vius database update usually works to correct a malformed database for me. This happens occasionally.

Thank you GuitarBob for the suggestion. It did the trick for the manual scanning portion.
I'm still getting the first error posted, the "No database loaded" for the email incoming and outgoing scan though. It's gotta be a different animal pulling it's database from somewhere else ?.?

If you were using Outlook OK prior to updating to version .96, then this is probably a bug related to the use of version .96 with Outlook. Version .96 made some significant changes, and I think they are still sorting out some of it.

I suggest you check back here once in a while to see if any additional posts have been made. I'm sure your post will make the ClamWin developers aware of any problem.

Yessir I was. Version .95 was working beautifully. I was thinking it was a bug related to the new v0.96 but didn't know how extensive the changes were.

You know, that's progress. We've gotta keep up with the times, and I'm OK with that. Like I said earlier, I'm impressed with the way these developers are working this program. I really like it and think they do an excellent job.
I write code myself, nothing near as complex as this, but I understand what they're going through.

I will check back here every now and again to see the progress, thanks.

Keep up the good work. Cool
