I have downloaded the two versions of Clam. I found some instructions on the web on integrating the two applications to use one AV database, this failed clamWin it was unable to find the clamAV database. I then tried to get the AV working in thunderbird. I ran into two problems 1st I needed to have pthreadsVC2.dll and then after that I had to run clamd.exe.

Now if Clamd was run as a service this would not be a problem, however the utility and ini file are missing from the distro so that this can be done. However, on another machine that has Vista installed I have loaded and run ClamWin with the extentions for Outlook and IE and these appear to be operating without running clamd as a service?

How do I get clamd.exe to run as a service and where do I get the missing files. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick!!!!

This is the forum for ClamWin. It sounds like you may be using Clam AV, which furnishes the scan engine and signature database for ClamWin, but they are not the same program.
