Hello,
I have a small company and have to buy a virus scanner for 7 PCs for 2010. So far we use Kaspersky.
I'd like to know how far you guys are with the real time scanning. What I'd like to see is that the computer scans while people are working on the computer. For kaspersky I pay about 400 € . Why not spending 300€ on you and we win both. So my basic question is is it planned to realize or not.
Oh yeah and how would it work with the payment, I mean I doent get a invoice but I cannot tranfer money without a reciet or bill.....
Many thanks.

Hello Chris:
ClamWin is not very far along with a real-time version of the scanner. The two developers currently do not have time to do much development beyond incorporating the new Clam AV changes into ClamWin. The real-time scanner will require the full-time effort of a dedicated programmer. ClamWin has joined with the Ask Toolbar in an effort to get revenue for development. Revenue from the toolbar has not been quite what it was estimated to be, so it will take some time to accumulate sufficient revenue. Once the revenue is accumulated and a programmer is hired, it will probably take six to nine months to develop a working real-time version of the scanner.
The Ask program is still being evaluated, and other approaches are also still on the table for consideration. If you can provide resource (human or monetary), please contact Alch via private message.
Regards,

Thanks GuitarBob,
in my case I just can support with money. For the other jobs I just useless.
For me next year I'll just use another software but if you are so far I'll change.
I have to check with the company (a company of the anglican church) if they are willing to pay in advance. Would be very interesting how much money you need to focus on that. 6 month for a full time programmer would be about (6x2000$ at least). For myself I'd say why not do it like wikipeida and get money from companies that usually spend the money on propretary software.
Many thanks for your reply I'll pass that forward and maybe I can arrange something eventhough it is just a little support.
