I installed Clam AntiVirus, and created EICAR.COM on a floppy to see if it would pick it up. I even changed preferences to show file names as they are being processed, but nothing happens. I did select for it to Scan A: (floppy), and then even the specific file EICAR.COM, but the scan window just sits there and thinks... the report file, ultimately, states that a scan was started and the time stamp. (Of course, after a few minutes just to scan the floppy, I stopped the scan.)
I am running WinME. The Scan screen doesn't display anything, the 'cursor' just sits there. Same thing on hard drive C:. Is there something I am missing? Help please, I DO think I have a virus... Thanks in advance!

ClamWin probably doesn't have very many Win ME users. please tell what you did you get it to work on ME in a post so it will be on the forum.

I ultimately ran on old version of SpyBot-S&D (1.2) that was already on my system. I had already downloaded the latest SpyBot, but it took almost 6 hours to run (on a 20 GB drive), so maybe it's no-worky on ME. I uninstalled the latest, went back (system RESTORE--many odd things were happening) then did a reload of ClamWin, and though it does take a few seconds before it starts checking, I was able to make it run! Found EICAR.COM, of course, and a trojan, 2 macros, and a virus.
I did notice the install doesn't seem to give me the same options, but it runs. SpyBot 1.2 didn't find anything threatening, but I used it to clean out some of the obsolete regestry entries that seemed irregular (did a registry export 1st, just in case).
I am really grateful ClamWin still supports WinME- obviously it's not Windows 7, but for other reasons, I can't upgrade. I hope it continues to run on WinME!

Glad you got it working. Check out ClamSentinel--a real-time front end for ClamWin designed for older OS at https://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/ on the web.
