Will Clam Win continue to support Win98SE for the long term?

Hello,

Nice to see the continued support for 98 S.E

Can I ask where the best link is to download the program that can be used on 98 S.E

Many thanks.

Do you think it will ever become a real time program, just curious.

So I take it if and when this happens that will be the end of support for windows 98 S.E?

No, we will either maintain the current codebase for win98 or have a version without resident scanning for win98

The virus definition updates are the same for all versions of ClamWin. Signatures are added whenever a sigmaker publishes his/her signatures, and they go out to the mirrors for downloading.

I understand, but I wanted to know if the virus definition updates downloaded automatically, or do we have to click on updates or anything?

In other words how are we told when there is an update?

Question

if you are logged on the clamwin scheduler would do that automatically for you (as long as clamwin tray icon is there)

Hi,

As WinClam isn't in realtime, well for 98 anyway, I was curious how long it takes to perform a manual scan for say a 80gb hard drive?

I take it there are options to exclude certain folders etc?

Finally is there a part of the scan that scans all email message for viruses etc?

Sorry for asking all these questions, but it looks like I will be moving over to ClamWin very soon, and I like to know more about this good program.

Many thanks Cool
