Everything i scan says , and I quote, "PERMISSION DENIED". What the ____ is up with this?????????????

Most likely you are gettimg those "permission denied" messages because you are not logged in as administrator. There are normally only a couple of messages like that for a few Windows system files like hiberfile and pagefile.

ClamWin is a indeed a good backup scanner, and it is free. If you use the web a lot, however, you should use a real-time scanner as your primary antivirus. ClamWin does not scan in real-time as files are placed on your computer. It scans on-demand as you tell it to, although you can schedule automatic scans.

There is a good guide to using Portable ClamWin (another project) on a USB drive at https://www.clamwin.com/content/view/118/89/ on the ClamWin site. I believe we have Alch to thank for this. I have it, and it works.
