I get this message in the log when Clamwin finds malware in my Opera mail files, but am not sure what, if anything, needs to be done.

I currently have Clamwin set to quarantine files - if I ticked 'delete', would it just remove the offending mail? I assume the message is there because the files can't be healed...

Finally, new scans seem to include the quarantine area. Is that strictly necessary, and if so, why not a button to clear the directory? Lazy I know, but it would ensure it got done, and I do find it strange to see all the quarantined infections listed alongside any new ones!

I have to say that many of the older computers I deal with are struggling with commercial AV like Norton and McAfee, and the most common comment I get after installing Clamwin* is that the whole computer seems faster, which (of course) is because it is!

*and uninstalling the other one!

Since ClamWin only works with Outlook email (without some extra help), I'm assuming you are including your email files in regular scans. If this is true, then if you use delete, it would just delete/remove the file containing malware. ClamWin doesn't do any healing of malware at all--that's not in its capabilities, and it would just become bigger/bloated if it did.

You probably don't need to scan the ClamWin quarantine folder. I have yet to see a piece of malware that attacks a quarantine folder! I just exclude it in my scans with the Exclude Matching Filenames filter C:\ProgramData\.clamwin\quarantine\* and the folder is ignored. A delete button in the program would certainly be nice--as would some restore capability as well.

I use Mozilla/Seamonkey as my browser. What "extra help" can I give ClamWin to process my mailbox files? I have many reports of: Scams: Phishing, Heuristics, Email.Spoofed, Pay-51, etc. viruses.
