Exclude folder/subfolders recursively with filter

Hello all,

I used the Filter option in ClamWin preferences to exclude a folder/subfolder structure recursively but it did not work.

I used example: D:\folder\.*

Is there a sequence I should have followed?

The PC is Win2k Pro.

Please advise whether I should follow a different Filter.

Kind regards
Emmanuel

to exclude folder with all subfolders you need to use a regular expression.

the correct syntax is:
<d:\\folder\\.*>

(I just noticed an error in the manual, thanks for bringing this up)

Alch

Hi alch

Currently running virus scan with ClamWin.

Will confirm if I interpreted your post correctly when it finishes.

Just as an added note currently watching Eurovision 2012 Malta so far my favourite.

Hi alch

This works just fine.

Sweden won the Eurovision 2012. And it was worthy.

if the plan old c:\marshall\w_marshall_conn.exe doesn't work for you, try substituting the items in Alch's post, and use <C:\\marshal\\w_marshal_conn.exe>

If it doesn't work, exclude the angle brackets and see if that works.

If that doesn't work, try *w_marshal_conn.exe

I am not certain from your post if you still have a problem. If you still have a problem, exclude filename.extension.

If you scan one file by itself, I believe the filters will not work.

If you scan an entire folder, I believe the filters will work.
