Hi everyone,

I installed clamav in centos 7 and enable real-time scan.

In my configuration file(/etc/clam.d/scan.conf). i set
...
User root
SysLog no
...

I think clamd shouldn't log into /var/log/messages.
But it still saves...
And in the messages file.
It will record the followings about per 10 minutes
"clamd: SelfCheck: Database status OK."
"clamd: LibClamAV Error: fmap_readpage: pread error: Is a directory"

I am new for clamav. Could anyone know how to solve the error or let clamav doesn't log to /var/log/messages automatically.
Thank you very much.

These forums are devoted to the ClamWin antivirus program for Windows computers. We can provide no assistance to users of the Clam AV program for Linux email serviers and other Linux-style operating systems. ClamWin uses a Windows port of the Clam AV source code, but it is designed for Windows computers, not Linux computers. ClamWin does not even use Clamd--it uses Clamscan.

I suggest you contact the Clam AV team for further assistance.

Regards,
