I just looked at the scan report and found that the last scan had taken
Quote:
Time: 95770.422 sec (1596 m 10 s)

Over 26 hours! How do I speed things up a little?

I have a lot of image files on this machine (I use it to do 3D renders, and so there might be image sequences with thousands of frames). Should I filter images? Doesn't that leave a security hole open?

Is there any way to get ClamAV to skip files that have not been changed since the last scan?

TIA

you can filter out images, it's very unlikely you have a "crafted" image in your hard disk, also I think with latest update of windows you shouldn't be affected,
I also suggest to filter out *.msi *.chm *.cab *.avi *.mpg *.mp3 and other media files

still getting scans in the six to eight hour range. Do you know if the filters are case sensitive: if I filter *.tif will that include *.TIF as well?

filters are case insensitive, 0.90 should skip by default media files,
I suggest you to exclude .chm .msi .cab,
and if you don't want to scan archives, add archives extensions
note that unchecking scan archives will only avoid unpacking of content, but they will be
scanned as raw data.

thanks, 0.9 sped things up remarkably.

Still seems like it scans files that haven't been touched since the last scan. Can't it check for this?
