since installing that version, scanning with clamAV creates over 10,000 empty temp files and does not remove them. This number exceeds the filenumber limit for windowsME. Even if clamAV does indeed finish a scan it still leaves at least one thousand temp files/folders behind. I have the archived the temp files.

For what its worth, I had exactly the same problem, but in exess of 2K sub directories
where created. Its interesting, I foolishly asked it to scan all of C: after first installing. It was slow, but worked well for a while, but then really bogged down, presumably when it started having these problems. Eventaully crashed my WinME system.

I've done a couple scans of individual directories since then successfully. I submit it gets into a problem scaning the C:\windows, possibly even the C:\Windows\temp when it tries to scan its own files? Just guessing.
