I think that you are in developpement of this options, but I would only add my opinion !

I work in entreprise and we regard to find the most free and "good" solution. The 4 things that ClamWin should innovate to help people to switch through ClamWin are:

1- Add the Realtime scanning.

2- Add a Email plugin for Thunderbird. For those are wanted a complete suite of free applications !

3- Disallow "Quit/Exit" application for Windows user group (non-admin group) and protect by password the options.

4- Allow import/export config with a easy way (via a button in option) for massive installation.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, we will make note of them. Here's some quick comments on the status:

Points 1 and 2 on your list are being worked on.

Point 4 should be doable once the new version is ready, because it makes use of xml-configuration files. We could add an option to pass a command line parameter to the installer that points to a configurationfile of your choice. You'll have to wait until version 1 is released though (and there is still no release date for even alpha or beta versions, in case you'll ask).

The "Enterprise administration" features are on the whish-list, but they won't be around for any time soon (unless a lot of developers suddenly volunteer to help). We'll have to stabilize the new build (version 1) and localizations before we can even think about such a feature.

The biggest thing for me is the ability for Clamwin to be run as a service. This is because I use Clamwin on our mailserver, so things like plugins and realtime scanning are of no concern.

Funny how peoples requirements can be so differant.
