A quick DuckDuckGo search for Shamoon Virus, with Clam AV turned up this at https://www.thesecurityblogger.com/cisco-coverage-for-shamoon-2-with-snort-rules-and-clamav-signatures/ on the web. I don't know how old it is, but if the Cisco guys get a Snort signature, Clam Av is going to also get a signature for the main virus--maybe not some of the related malware, but if you can stop the main virus, you have probably stopped the bulk of the related stuff.

The problem with Clam AV signatures is that it does not get a lot of signatures. Their primary users are Linux email servers which get only a subset of viruses. Clam AV only gets abut 1,000 signatures per day. Emsisoft and other AVs get around 300,000 signatures per day. There is no way a free, open source AV can compete with that! Cisco does what it can to help Clam Av, but it doesn't make any money for it. And ClamWin depends upon Clam Av for just about everything.

That is why you need to use a real-time AV and employ ClamWin as a backup, on-demand scanner.

Thanks for using ClamWin!

The virus scanner not working properly on my device. It is showing windows 10 error. I have visited Windows 10 Preparing Automatic Repair Error page but didn't get the proper solution.

Reinstall ClamWin as an administrator and see if this helps.

I do not think Clamwin has been thoroughly tested on Windows 10.

ClamWin has its antivirus definitions database updated several times per day and that it still retains an active user community. The program features a sufficient number of scanning options to protect against the majority of viruses, pieces of malware, and trojans. I suggest you give it a try while it's free. If it does not work, try something else.
