In Task Manager, I see 5.7 MB of memory in reserved for ClamWin when it is inactive. My ClamWin uses about 450 MB of memory when scanning memory. You may be able to minimize mem use if you make sure ClamWin's Advanced option, Scanner Prioroty is set to Low.
Look at all the other stuff that uses memory! I wouldn't worry about it. Let Windows do its thing! Regards, |

So I've changed the weekly Sunday scan to 6am, but my computer is still behaving as if its scanning 4 hours later (laptop fan being noticeably loud, laptop feeling kind of hot, and things kind of being a slowed), and I can see that clamscan.exe is using CPU and RAM (~15% and ~500MB), but I can't actually get the scanning window to show up (that shows what it's scanned and is scanning).
![]() There's no open windows with the scanner, and clicking into the ClamWin icon from the notifications panel (bottom-right side in Windows 7), it just lets me open the normal ClamWin menu window with no option to go to the scanner. How do I view the scanner when it's running like this? I need to know what it's doing so I can decide whether to leave it or cancel it. Also, I've already added MSSE exceptions for file type clamtmp and folder C:\Program Files (x86)\ClamWin\bin, and MSSE is 0% right now, so that's not causing the slowdown. |

You can try a manual scan via the GUI and maybe see what is going on.

I've disabled scheduled scans... they just take too long and are not easily accessible. I'll just do it manually. Hopefully ClamWin will improve later.
