Hello people,
The new 99 version is always trying to connect to an online version.
I believe I have blocked all the Clamwin entries in my Zonealarm firewall.
I will go back into Zonealarm and check again.
Does anyone know what is happening? Is it going to want me to download an online version?
I am on dial-up. I download big items like ClamWin at the public library.
Thanks very much.

ClamWin will try to update the virus signatures as you have configured it--daily, hourly, etc. This is the only contact on the web that it should be making. You can see the location of this contact by looking at your Internet Updates tab. If it is making other contacts, that is very suspicious.
I hope you are using a real-time antivirus along with ClamWin. If you feel that you are infected, Malwarebytes Antimalware Free does a good job of detecting/cleaning infections.

Hello Bob, I went and looked at the settings in the internet updates tab.
Enable automatic updates was unchecked. Warn if database is out of date was checked (I have now unchecked this).
Notify about new ClamWin was checked (I now unchecked this). Update at logon was unchecked, I left it that way. Send email alert on virus detection was unchecked, I left it that way.
The message box I have been getting looked like it was part of the ClamWin Program.
I have always done the updates manually. This is the way I like to do it, I will think about Malwarebytes Antimalware Free to check the computer. Though maybe because of dial-up I haven't got a real infection in a long, long time!
Maybe ClamWin will settle down with these changes.
Thanks Again, Bob P.

Sounds like you have configured ClamWin the way you want to. The Clam AV team does not update Clam AV very often, so be sure and use a real-time AV with it for extra protection (set the other AV to exclude ClamWin's database and quarantine folders from its scans). If you do not use another AV, be sure to use Malwarebytes Free Antimalware and scan with it several times each day (also set it to detect rootkits).
Thanks for using ClamWin!
