I have ClamWin installed in different computers, I use the command clamscan and sometimes when i look into the log file I find the error ERROR: Unable to create temporary directory, I solve the problem using ClamWin GUI to analize one file, after this I can use again the clamscan.exe command.

I’m looking forward any help.

Thank you,

SET the following env variable:
TMPDIR

and use --temp-dir parameter on the command line

Hello,

I also have ClamWin installed on 3 machines I own and
have helped several friends install it on theirs. One machine,
which had been working OK [or it appeared it had], has suddenly
developed this same error message when a scheduled scan
is kicked off and a few minutes after rebooting the machine,
even if the scheduled scan is not due nor manually run.

Would the solution be the same, configuring the TMPDIR
environment variable to be set at system startup? If so, it's
been so long since I've done this under WinXP I've forgotten how.
A "memory jogger" on how this is done would be much appreciated.

To set an environment variable in Xp :
- Right-click on "My Computer" and select "Properties"
- In the "Advanced" tab, click on the button that says "Environment Variables"
- In this dialog you can add variables in the user and system environment (use system environment, so it is set for all users)

Thank you very much.
I also found that you can set them via "System" in Control Panel.
Once that's up, click on the "Advanced" tab
There is a button at the bottom of the tab for "Environment Variables"
It's pretty self explanatory from there.

Again, I truly appreciate your assistance
