If this is an open-source project, where can I find the source? I found what appears to be the sourceforge repository, but it doesn't appear to have been updated in a couple of years. Where can I find the code for recent versions (i.e 0.98.4.1, the most recent version)?

Welcome to the forums. This topic might help: https://www.clamwin.com/content/view/178/27/ You should note the ClamWin run off the ClamAV scan engine and database, so if you want the full source code for ClamWin, you should download the source code for both ClamWin and ClamAV.

There is a FAQ about where/how to get ClamWin source code that can be accessed from the main ClamWin web page.

Right, I had already checked out this svn repository. However, there are no tags or branches beyond version ~0.96.1, and the trunk has code that says it is version 0.97. Where is the code for newer versions??

I think the source code for ClamWin is the GUI, which hasn't been touched or changed in a very long time now. I would assume that's probably why the source code hasn't been updated, yet. The scan engine and database would be on ClamAV's side and you would have to go to ClamAV to get their source code. Alch should take a look at this, though, as I am not sure if what I said is true.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I too would like to know where the current source is. The answer given in this thread, that ClamWin just uses ClamAV isn't quite true. ClamWin is not using the stock ClamAV source code. There are several command-line switches that ClamWin's version of clamscan uses that stock ClamAV's clamscan doesn't support. For example --show-progress, --keep-mbox, --kill, and especially --memory.
There is no source code that I can find for ClamWin's 0.98.7 version of ClamAV, and no patch that they supply that works to produce it.
Can anyone help with this?

It is my understanding that a version of the current ClaWin source code is not available right now. It is certainly unfortunate. You might see if you could do something with Sherpya's port, which is probably available at the Net Farm link from the ClamWin About page.

Aren't they obligated by license to release the source code to the ClamAV binary they distribute?

Yes the license that ClamWin is under requires the source code to be available. Unfortunately, the developer has lots of demands upon his time and has not made the current version available.

I have notified Alch of the outdated source code in the beta testing forum. It seems the only place he seems to pay the most attention. If you want to ask any questions, I suggest you sign up and ask them now. It is free and you can do it by going to Usergroups and subscribing to beta testers there. Otherwise, ask Alch to make you a private beta tester.

Ok I got this all cleared up with Alch. The commits to the outlook plugin that happened in .97 were committed here: https://github.com/clamwin/pyc The commits to the update issue that happened in .98 were committed at the ClamWin port here: https://github.com/clamwin/clamav-win32 Alch has recently updated the sourcecode on SourceForge to include the latest version number plus 1 change that happened with .99. I have informed him he should keep it up-to-date, even if it's just a version change, so it doesn't look so outdated. Here is the updated code on SourceForge: https://sourceforge.net/p/clamwin/code/ci/master/tree/
Other then that, Alch also said that there really much changes in the ClamWin code with each update, other then what happens with the ClamWin port. I think we are in the good now with the ClamWin sourcecode. No need to worry anymore.
