How good is the engine?

How good is the engine of Clamwin?
Currently I use Escan Free Toolkitutility, I heard that Clamwin is very good.
But how good is it? I am happy that Clamwin is an On-Demandscanner, because the Guard takes much of Speed.

What is better?

Escan or Clamwin?

Well it's always difficult to say which AV is better. I know people have been working on an independent comparative test, but i've seen no results of that as yet.
I also haven't heard of Escan yet, so i can't share my experiences on it.

In my opinion I think clamav engine is very good as quality, but right very slow since it has a lot of bottlenecks while reading data and so.
Anyway my opinion is based on my studies on clamav sources and then it's not "authoritative"
