Hi,
does ClamWin can check for viruses & trojans on the background, like norton?
i'm asking that because i had the kernel8 trojan on my PC for several months & ClamWin didn't saw it... ClamWin saw it only when i did a virus scan.
if i had norton, i probably was alerted on the first second that the trojan was on my system...
so... does ClamWin can check for viruses & trojans on the background, like norton?
maybe i had to configure it to do so & i didn't...

No it does not check for viruses on the background yet - we are working on this feature. This is clearly stated in bold font on https://www.clamwin.com webpage:
