I am not sure what you mean by "force scanning." I think you mean "real-time" scanning. ClamWin is a "on-demand" scanner that scans when you "demand" as scan--either via a scheduled scan, a scan from the right context Windows Explorer menu with the mouse, or a scan from the GUI menu. It does not scan in "rea;-time" as files are put on your computer.
You can turn ClamWin into a real-time scanner (as files are added, modified, or copied on your computer) with the program from the The Clam Sentinel project at https://clamsentinel.sourceforge.net/ on the web. Clam Sentinel is a free, open source program like ClamWin. ClamWin must be installed before Clam Sentinel. No antivirus can open up a password-protected zip file for scanning inside the file. I do not think you have to worry about most read-only files, but you can scan them with ClamWin. Regards, |

Error messages about file access and deny access are common during scans. If a file is in use when it is scanned, ClamWin cannot scan it then, so access is denied. These files are usually not infected. Some other files to which access is denied are used by the system. You may have to get administrator privilege to scan some files.

There is no way to scan zipped files that have a password. ClamWin has to be able to open a file in order to scan it. That is the purpose of the password--to prevent unauthorized persons from doing anything with a file.
