hi everyone
for short I caught a sort of redirection virus on firefox (and explorer) -when I click on a site on google it brings me somewhere else, mostly on ebay logged with a chineses user name.
Clam didn't see it. so a friend advised me to try adware. Adware saw it but it allways come back.
Another friend said try soluto to track the virus when the PC starts, but soluto did not see anything..
I'm on XP and don't know what I can do now...
Thanks for your help!!!

Many viruses today are not in wide circulation, so your AV may not have a signature for it. First make sure ClamWin is updated and then do a scan of your C drive in Windows Safe Mode (hit F8 when booting up and select normal safe mode at the menu). If that doesn't work, get the free Malwarebytes Antirootkit (MBAR) at https://www.malwarebytes.org/products/other_tools/ on the web. You do not have to install it--just download it to your desktop, open the folder, run mbar.exe, update it, and do a scan. Select Remove if anything is found. If you have any problems after running it, go to the MBAR folder and run fixdamage.exe.
Plan B is to get the free Microsoft Safety Scanner at https://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx on the web. You do not have to install it--just put it on your desktop and run it. Do a scan in regular mode. If nothing is found, then do a scan in Safe Mode. If it worked, keep it around, but you will have to update it every week to get new virus signatures.
Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

You are welcome. No report needed. Keep Malwarebytes around--either Malwarebytes Antirootkit or Malwarebytes Antimalware. Both are free, so you must manually update before a scan. I like the antirootkit because it does both a rootkit scan and an antimalware scan.
Thanks for using ClamWin!
