I'm sorry if this is off topic or not appropriate, but I've been using SpyBot search and destroy for years. I've never looked at anything else. Is ClamWIN something I would use in addition to, or in place of SpyBot?
Thanks,
Sandra

I don't think that ClamWin by itself can replace Spybot. ClamWin is an on-demand scanner that does not scan in real-time. It only scans when you tell it to or when you have a scan scheduled. Spybot has the Tea Timer real-time option, so it scans in real time as files are used on your computer.
No AV or antispyware program is perfect, however. ClamWin makes a good backup scanner to a real-time one, as it uses only minimal computer resources when it is not scanning. ClamWin can be converted into a real-time scanner by using the also free Clam Sentinel program, which uses ClamWin and also has its own heuristic scanning engine to identify malware for which there is no ClamWin signature.
I hope this helps.
