I installed the upgraded version, when prompted that one was available. I changed nothing else on my computer. Now, when the freshclam program checks for new virus definitions, it comes up with an error. This happens on every other version of the program in Windows. I don't mind once in a while having issues with free software, but every other version? And when the Windows version was supported by Immunet, calling them did no good, and their forums were not responsive. Tell me, how is it that my freshclam configuration can be corrupted by new versions downloaded from within the Clam Antivirus program? Is there an application that can fix it? If I download the cvd file manually, how can I install it into Clam Antivirus/Immunet? I love open source software, and I have always used Clam Antivirus on Linux. Unfortunately, Windows versions tend to suck. If anyone can point me to the portion of the clam antivirus which controls being able to download updates, please do. I want to keep my virus definitions up to date, and I use no other antivirus program - especially not the joke by Microsoft.
Thanks.

did you check in your firewall that freshclam is allowed to connect? An update will change the freshclam.exe signature and the firewall might not lett the updated exe to connect
