Hi,
We are considering using ClamAV for our current project and I have been tasked with initial investigation. I am new to this area so apologise in advance for this very basic question.
One of our requirements is that viruses are detected in base 64 files. Can anyone advise me how to create a virus embedded base64 file using eicar?
When I just convert the eicar text to base 64 and put it in a file it is not detected by ClamAV (or even the more expensive alternative).
Thanks for your help,
Lillian

Base64 encoded files are not directly executable and therefore not recognised. It would be detected ig you put it into the RFC-822 MIME message as a base64 attachment though.
