My contacts keep having an email sent from a pharmacy website even though I have closed my hotmail account and cleaned my computer. What do I do?

I had a friend who recently stopped using their Hotmail account when they got DSL. They did not actually close the account. Some spam has recently showed up as coming from the Hotmail account. It looks like the account was hijacked. Maybe the spammers have someone inside that tells them when an account is closed/inactive. Ayway, I recommended they get into the account, delete the contact list, and set up a new password. You might try doing the same--perhaps the account is not really closed.

If that fails, contact Hotmail and tell them what has been going.
