I have a youth group in Africa and they each will receive a memory stick for their use from a charitable donor. I want to educate them on viruses and have a portable virus program on each stick since they are very likely to insert them into infected computers. I have downloaded Clamwin and it looks ideal. My question is --- when they put the sticks into an infected computer, do whatever they are going to do, then use clamwin to scan their sticks before removal from a USB port, does the program automatically quarantine and/or remove any contaminated files without further action on their part? I realize that they have to manually start the program to run it and I can teach them that These users are not sophisticated with computers so i want to be sure to make things as automatic as possible, or be able to instruct them as to what to do.
Thanks

If you have ClamWin configured in the General Preferences tab to quarantine infected files, it will quarantine any fiiles for which it has a signature.

You might be interested in the ClamSentinel program, which adds a basic real-time scanner to ClamWin. It will also protect USB/removable drives in real-time if you configure it for that. It is a free program (not affiliated with ClamWin) available at
https://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/ on the web. You can configure Sentinel to run with the Portable ClamWin, so you can install it on a USB and not on the computer. Sentinel runs on Windows 98 and newer computers.
