Hi all,

I am new to ClamWin and I am wondering if there is any plan to develop a central managment for ClamWin so you can manage you anti-virus software of your workstations from a central location.

Thanx,
Bruno

We have planned it, however our resources are limited and all clamwin development is done in spare time kindly donated by the developers. I don't think centralised management will happen without external help or funding.

This isn't really centralized management, Alch, but it might be a small step in that direction...

Have you considered giving ClamWin the capability to either report on or even change the system configurations relating to security for each PC/workstation on which it is installed? Such as having Clamwin report on PCs/workstations that don't have Internet Explorer set to default settings for each zone--or even change them to defaults? You might be able to do something like that for other browsers as well. And there's the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) advanced System Property that can be set to either basic or maximum. There's also the Windows Security Center stuff to consider also--firewall/AV/Windows update settings. There's also something that might could be done with the Hosts file, but some of the anti-spyware works with that now.

Excuse my raving on...

Regards,

Well, I'm about to download some source and see what, if anything, I can do with my rusty little brain and limited time. Smile

No promises at this stage and anything, if anything I do get working, whilst I'll be happy to distribute, will be geared to my own needs.

At least with open source I can at least entertain the idea Smile

I believe the ClamWin developers will be looking into like that when they are ready to start on version 2.0. You might contact Alch or Sherpya to see about it.

We're interested in sponsoring this into the product, be it via our own developers or possibly funding specific for this feature. What are the chances of us sponsoring a specific feature into the product?

Personally I have Clamwin - do nightly scans on every PC in the network and send reports to an email address upon on detection.
