I am very new to computers and I was told to download the anti-virus, which I have done. I then ran the scan but now I cant figure out how to remove the trojan virus and other issues it found. Can anyone help me?

ClamWin has preferences/options that you can configure. It comes with the option to Notify when it scans a file and detects an infection. You can set this option to Quarantine or to Remove also. You can accesss these options by right clicking on the ClamWin icon in the system tray in the bottom right of your computer screen, then click on Configure and the options tabs come up. See the Infected Files Options--Notify, Quarantine or Remove? Many people choose the Quarantine option. It's probably best never to use the Remove option--in case ClamWin falsely detects a virus in an important file (a "false positive")--you don't want that file to be removed. If there is a false positive in an important Windows file (it happens sometimes), you could lose access to Windows/computer.
I use the Notify option and then when ClamWin tells me of an infection, I go to that file and upload a copy of it to Jotti or VirusTotal to get a free scan with multiple antivirus programs (including Clam). If more than two or three other antiviruses besides Clam spot an infection, it is probably a real infection and not a false positive. Then I remove the file (unless it's an important Windows file--get help if it is) and restore it from backup if it is a program.
I hope this helps you. You can read the ClamWin FAQ page for lots of good information. Get back if you have any questions, and someone can probably help you.

HOWDY--I am a :newbie" here. Just downloaded and ran my first scan--the c"CLAM" performed OUTSTANDINGLY!!!!.
The only problem I had was how to remove virus after it had been detected. After registering and all that, I came to the "forum", found EXACTLY the correct answer to my question.
I have a feeling, I am going to really enjoy this site.
THANX A GIGA for allowing me to join!!!!!!!
