I recently upgraded one of the boxes on my network to ClamWin 0.95.1 and initiated a complete scan. It immediately flagged some critical Excel files as having virus. This is on a s laptop that I had just recovered (Thinkpad) and had not even accessed the internet!

Suffice it to say that I'm a little worried to deploy something flagging Excel as being viral. So, I figured I'd inform my end users to set ClamWin not to check for updates in the future by placing a tick mark in the "Do Not Check for Updates in Future" when the ClamWin Update dialogue popped up! However, this appears to not be doing a darn thing in version 0.94.1 as that dialogue keeps on appearing!

Is there something I'm overlooking somewhere?

We are working on Excel False positives and expect to get it resolved very soon.
I suspect you ticked the "Do Not Check for Updates in Future" box and closed the window by using the cross icon in the top-right corner. For this setting to be effective you need to click on normal "Close" button at the bottom.

Alternatively go to clamwin settings-internet updates and untick "Notify about new clamwin releases" check box.

That's what I've been doing yet it keeps popping up!!!

Spoke too soon - that pop reminder to upgrade still pops up even with "Notify About New ClamWin Release" unchecked! Looks like it skipped for one day then it is now back to the same issue!


Need I open a bug report or is mention in the forum enough?
