I was doing a test scan of ClamWin on a Vista laptop, and the scan aborted after trying to scan pagefile.sys (permission was denied, of course). Has anyone else had a problem with aborted scans on Vista when access is denied to a file? Scan log is below, and I was away from the machine at the time.

Regards,

Hello Bob,

Tested a full C: scan on my Vista SP1 laptop, was run as single user as well as with admin. privileges. In both cases scan was completed correctly and no 'permission denied' messages appeared. Clamwin is set with defaults, except for a list of file extensions i decided to skip to speed up scans.
Below the logs (file numbers differ as I was using laptop while scanning on second time):

Well, I guess I'll put it down as "one of those things" unless it keeps happening. Should have retried it, I guess, but I was in a hurry. It sure takes longer for a Vista scan than an XP scan doesn't it? Guess it's all those Vista Dlls.

Hello Bob,

Absolutely true. Scans on Vista take me almost double the time needed to scan the XP machine (note that on Vista I have set my application set to the minimum).Very Happy

Antonio
