Dear ClamWin,

I saw that ClamWin is Open Source and goes under the GNU General Public License.
But does that mean I AM ALLOWED install and use/run ClamWin on our company server LEGALLY?

The server is not doing anything critical, just working as a backup server. All the clients around it use a Symantec Antivirus scanner btw.

Please answer.

That is the whole point of the GPL. If you were to perhaps modify the code or to use it in another application, if distributed, would be required to be placed under the GPL as well. Other than that, you are free to do whatever you want with it.

Surprised I Had a simmilar question and was about to ask it as well; so thank you for asking your's for me, it helped to answer my question:

I am interested in using a claimwin item on my computer. I use it for both personal and business work so I was wondering if the business usage made it fall under the exclusion portion of the Licence Aggreement about COMMERICAL USE restrictions, And thus not (legally) available for me to use on this 'mixed' (work and personal useage) computer.

I assume from the replys earlyer that I can use this on my business computer, and that this is approvable.

Thank you
