I read that Clam's Sourcefire owner is about to include in Clam some modules for "paying" business customers (data loss prevention capabilities) that ClamWin certainly will not be able to use. They will also provide Certified Support to business customers of Clam that includes downloadable binaries (no more user compilations). It appears that a commercial version has been "branched" from the Open Source version of Clam--similar to what has been done with Snort.
I wonder what effect this will have upon ClamWin. Do you suppose that ClamWin could cut a "deal" with Clam/Sourcefire to sell an enhanced version of ClamWin to paying business customers that would help subsidize further ClamWin development?
Regards,
