Hi !!!
As i use Clamwin portable (like a growing number of users Wink )
i wanted to know if you included (or planning to) USB dumpers and keyloggers, even screen dumpers scan ?
Because using encryption is useless if a prog running can "see" your password when you tip it Wink
And even worse, can dump your files when unlocked Very Happy

A lot of ppl think about encryption, but this is useless if you "decrypt" your files on an untrusted computer Very Happy
A dumper and you are dead

i'm open to suggestions too Wink

The ClamAV engine used by ClamWin includes the same signatures for keyloggers that most antiviruses have. Keyloggers have been around for some time now, and they are considered fairly simple to write.

I was recently doing a search for keylog software on the Web and ran across some designated as "family software" to help parents keep track of what their kids are doing online. This tells me that keylog programs are now commonplace. I could be wrong, but I have the impression that good malware writers have gone on to other things and left keyloggers to spyware writers and malware writers who aren't so talented.

A good antispyware program will probably find any major keylogger stuff that is missed by an antivirus. Of course, keyloggers are sometimes a component of the so-called "multiple payload" malware, so they are still with us. I would worry more about keyloggers if I were a gamer.

Regards,

i think they are coding USB dumpers now Wink
Like i said, USB dumpers are hype now and more dangerous than anything else for portable use

I think the only thing we can do is using separate encrypted partition and NEVER open it on untrusted computer...but of course if you encrypted it and keep them with you, this is for using them elsewere than home...

So the dilemna is here : whatever encryption (hard/soft) you use, you are dead in front of a dumper
If you can access datas, any driver level treat can too Sad

We can only speak about security if you only plug your device on trusted computers and use encryption for steal protection between computers Very Happy
But never in public places Wink
