There are some folders from which ClamWin can't remove files--such as System Restore--maybe a couple of more.
So it would help to know what folder the suspected malware is in. It would probably also be a good idea for you to visit Jotti online at https://virusscan.jotti.org/ and upload a copy of the file for them to do a free check against 19 other antivirus programs besides ClamWin to see if it is a false positive. If a couple of other antivirus programs there also spot malware in the file, then it is probably the real thing and not a false positive. THEN you can delete the file. If the malware is in System Restore, just disable System Restore and then enable it again. If it is a false positive, upload a copy of the file to the Clam virus analysts at https://cgi.clamav.net/sendvirus.cgi and tell them about it. They will update the signature database. You should do the same thing if you find a virus in a file that ClamWin doesn't spot. Regards, |

clamwin does not move infected messages by design in order to protect mailboxes such as thunderbird etc. You may delete those messages manually. Virus in an email message is harmless unless you open that email and/or save and execute an attachment.
