I'm running clamscan.exe from the command line. But it totally ignores the clamwin.conf in \bin and also %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\clamwin directories. can i specify a .conf on the command line? I didn't see that option in the --help. The reason i say it ignores it because I don't get a scanlog, email alert and also it's not quarantining the found viruses. I get a successful email test from the gui. I'm running clamscan --recursive -d %PATH-TO-DB%.

Thanks,
Peter

Ok so i found previous posts about this..... and what I really want to do is run clamwin.exe from the command line so It retains all the functionality. process explorer revealed this:

"C:\Program Files\ClamWin\bin\clamscan.exe" --tempdir "c:\docume~1\admini~1.sma\locals~1\temp" --keep-mbox --stdout --database="C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.clamwin\db" --log="c:\docume~1\admini~1.sma\locals~1\temp\tmpayrkk9" --max-ratio=0 --no-mail --skip-noexe --infected --max-files=500 --max-space=10240 --max-recursion=5 --show-progress --move="C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.clamwin\quarantine" --recursive --exclude="C:\\WINNT\\system32\\config\\default" --exclude="C:\\WINNT\\system32\\config\\SAM" --exclude="C:\\WINNT\\system32\\config\\SECURITY" --exclude="C:\\WINNT\\system32\\config\\software" --exclude="C:\\WINNT\\system32\\config\\software.alt" --exclude="C:\\WINNT\\system32\\config\\system" --exclude="C:\\WINNT\\system32\\config\\system.alt" --exclude="[^\]*\.dbx$" --exclude="[^\]*\.tbb$" --exclude="[^\]*\.pst$" --exclude="[^\]*\.dat$" --exclude="[^\]*\.log$" --exclude="[^\]*\.evt$" --exclude="[^\]*\.nsf$" --exclude="[^\]*\.ntf$" --exclude="[^\]*\.chm$" --kill "C:\\"

Interesting no? So where's all the documentation for running clamwin from the command line? (not clamscan)

Thanks,
Peter

wow sorry for the noise.... clamwin.exe --mode=scanner --path="c:\" only scans the c:\ directory. No recursion. I found if you leave off the training slash it scans recursively. --path="c:" in case anying is in the same boat.....
