ClamWin Free Antivirus :: View topic - ClamWin doesn't update when installed in Pen Drive

Dear forum members and moderators:

I came across ClamWin as part of an application that has it as portable. I installed it on my 1.0 GB USB pen drive but I can't update its Virus Database on the USB nor can I get the updated ClamWin 0.91 recognized. I installed the 0.91 on the USB. Can you help me with this?

Specs:

Win XP SP2
512 RAM
40GB HD
USB Pendrive Kingston 1.0 GB

what does the update log say?

Dear alch:

It says unable to update, but I have found the reason, I downloaded the non portable version of ClamWin. If you want the portable update you have to search the Project ClamWin Portable at Sourceforge.net download the file that says Example: ClamWin_0.91.paf.exe. Then you execute the file indicating where you want it installed. In my case my USB is the letter K:\ then the installer does the work.
