Well, I guess the subject says it all. Is ClamWin good enough to be the only Anti-Virus on a system that is connected to the Internet all the time? I don't do much downloading, well, I don't do any anymore because of virus/spyware problems. I just check my email and go on forum websites that are trusted. Like this one Razz Thanks.

For the most part yes. ClamAv seems to target more email viruses than anything else.

Provided you aren't downloading fake "codecs" to view porn, or using lots of cracked software, and have a firewall protecting your inbound listening ports, you should be OK.

If you use Intenet Explorer, you might also use an antispyware program--especially one that protects your Browser Helper Objects. Microsoft Defender is pretty good--it's free and resident. Another is SuperAntispyware, which also has a free version.

Thanks to both of you. In regards to what you said b0ne, I have Zone Alarm Free firewall which should protect me against anything that comes, and I don't use a huge amount of cracked software, not enough to pose a threat. I think that so long as I am faithful with my scanning with ClamWin and my other Anti-Spyware products, I will be fine. In regards to what you said GuitarBob, I don't like Microsoft Defender much but that is a matter of opinion and I run SuperAntispyware frequently as well as A-squared, Adaware and Spybot S&D and some other assorted programs. Thanks again to both of you, I think that the days of AVG on my machine are over! ClamWin is my one and only!
