I cannot completely get rid of Trojans. Every time I scan, it says they they have been removed but when I scan again, they are still in my computer. I'm not quite sure of their source. I just want them to be removed because they are dangerous. Mad [/b]

These forums are only for the use/users of the free, open source ClamWin antivirus for Windows. I do not see how your question pertains to ClamWin!

I scanned my computer with Clamwin free antivirus. I didn't realize that I had to explain that since i have also donated at least two times this year and told others about Clamwin. I just figured that I could get some help.

Sorry, you were not very explicit as to being a ClamWin user, and we can only devote ourselves to them.

Most likely you still have virus traces in your registry. ClamWin uses only the virus signatures supplied by the Clam AV Project (for Linux email servers), and they can only spot infected files that an email server gets. In addition, the signatures supplied are just not enough to provide adequate user protection. You will need some additional help.

Here is what I suggest. Get the free TDSSKiller antirootkit program from Kaspersky. Then get the free Eset Online Scanner from Eset (the Nod32 AV people). You can get them from the websites of both companies, but you may have to do some looking. You do not have to install them on your computer--just download them to a folder somewhere (I put them on USB) and run them. Run TDSSKiller first and then Eset Online Scanner. You will have to update each one after it loads and then just follow the prompts.

I don't like Malwarebytes, but they have a good scanner, and they have a free version that you have to install. You might try that if you still have the trojan after TDSSKiller and Eset Online Scanner. I would uninstall Malwarebytes after you run it.

Finally, if you still have the trojan, then get the free CureIT program from Dr. Web. It's been a long time since I used it--I don't think you have to install it, but I'm not sure. It is very good, and it would be my AV scanner of last resort.

Thanks for using ClamWin. Please let us know how this goes.

Regards,

If you have trouble finding them, you might look at Bleeping Computer to see if they are available in their downloads--they have a lot.
