Hello there, we have tried Avast and AVG and cannot get both of us covered with AV. We share a laptop as we travel alot. We have XP set up with 2 users. Will ClamWin work any better? One user works fine, the second gets all kinds of error messages. We never had a problem with McAfee, but decided to try a free version. Thx, Ed

ClamWin will probably work okay for you; however, ClamWin is not a real-time scanner. It only scans when you tell it to or when you have it scheduled to scan. Also, it does not have enough signatures. It has about 6 million signatures, but many commercial AVs have twice that many.

The ClamWin developers have always recommend that you use ClamWin as a backup to a real-time AV scanner.

I suggest that you use Microsoft Windows Defender (Security Essentials for older computers). It is a simple and free AV that is pretty good. A couple of other similar AVs are Forticlient from Fortinet and Panda Free AV.

Regards,
