Clearly not, or there would be posts thanking them for sorting it out.

Apparently not, I have just tried again to run the latest version.

freshclam is allowed through my firewall, dnschecker returns valid results, I have tried adding an appropriate line to my hosts file, I am not using a proxy.

Updates still do not work on clamwin versions newer than 0.97.6

Download and install the updates manually then. Not the most fun in the world but it works for now.

Since it adopted partial automation of the Clam virus submissions, Sourcefire normally has them ready to download at 4:30 am, 10:30 am, 4:30 pm and 10:30 pm--Eastern USA time. That's 4 times per day, so perhaps it will help you to know that schedule. Even the manual submissions are pushed out on the same schedule.

I have more important things to do than babysit software that used to work.

I'll just stick with an old version for a while.

Here is a ClamWin version .98 release candidate at http://files.clamwin.com/clamwin-0.98-RC1-setup-nodb.exe on the web. It disables IPV6, which is thought to eliminate the database update problem. Please test it and let us know. If you want to be an official beta tester, send email to Alch and Sherpya via the ClamWin contact information on the main ClamWin web page.

So far, so good...I'll post again if this changes but otherwise I'm off simply being satisfied that it seems to work. Smile

Ty for taking the time to post it for us!

Thank you for following up. Contact the developers via the web page if you would like to be a regular beta tester. They need more testers, and that is the best way for users to contribute to ClamWin. It doesn't really take much time--just use it like you normally do for a few days and look for problems. And...you will get ClamWin 1.0 before other users!
