I have a windows ME computer onto which I am trying to install ClamWin from the downloaded file called cnet2_clamwin-0_97_3-setup_exe.exe Whenenver I run the file I get an error message "Out of Memory". I have 1.5 gb on the hard drive. It's a Pentium 3, 700 Mhz, with 320 mb RAM. I couldn't find specs anywhere as to whether this is enough. What could be the problem?

The "out of memory" warning is probably correct. I don't know exactly how much you need, but I would try to upgrade memory so that you will have a total of at least 1 megabyte of memory. I haven't seen ClamWin being used on Win ME, but it is used on Windows 98 without too many problems.

Once again, the out of memory warning is probably correct. I don't know how much memory you need on your computer, but if you have more than 3 gigabytes or so of RAM, that should be enough for newer computers, and I think about 1 gigabyte should be enough for older computers. You could try to uninstall any program(s) that you do not need. It is getting hard to support older computers--say anything older than Windows 7.

If you already have a working real-time antivirus, such as Windows Defender or Security Essentials (for older Windows computers), you do not need ClamWin. ClamWin is not a real time scanner, and it should be used only as a backup to a realtime scanner.
