Running Win XP Pro Sp3. ClamWin 0.97.2. Can't download - see below:

Giving up on database.clamav.net...
Update failed. Your network may be down or none of the mirrors listed in d:\docume~1\ian~1.wal\locals~1\temp\tmphbhe0z is working. Check http://www.clamav.net/support/mirror-problem for possible reasons.

ClamWin automatic updates worked fine after installation (first time user) on 24.08.2011 but after local wireless network problems lasting about a week, during which I reloaded Sitecom USB wireless LAN software, does not work now. Everything else seems to.

All help gratefully received.

Most likely you need to do some configuring in your wireless setup now. See if your wireless provider can help with this. If that is okay, check to make sure Allow Internet Updates is selected under the ClamWin Internet Updates configuration tab.

Copy all the files in your Clamwin database directory and save them somewhere (just in case). Then delete all the files in the database directory and try to do a manual update. If that doesn't work, you might try reinstalling ClamWin.

Thanks for the helpful reply. I was away for 2 days. switched on this evening and launched download virus database update from the tray icon. And it worked with a break and recapitulation. Updates from 13531 to 13601. The break and re-start was as follows:

Downloading daily-13581.cdiff [100%]

and so on to update 13601. I will see how the next updates go and if there is a problem will do as you recommend. The wireless network is still flaky, which does not help. Thanks again.

I have all those problems once-in-a-while. After a couple of tries, I just wait for 30 minutes or longer to try it again, and it usually works. I actually have less grief if I let ClamWin update automatically. It's not a life or death matter, after all.

I just published 13601, and 13602 will soon follow. After that, you'll probably have to wait for Christoph to publish tomorrow (in Europe).
