Of course i can. Today i tried the new version 0.96.2.1
1st I followed this guide: http://www.clamwin.com/content/view/118/89/
2nd I started clamwin.exe by doubleclicking on it from explorer.
3rd I clicked on the prefernces icon to control all paths and locations (the are allright
no wonder -the relative paths are from winclam.conf downloaded from the guide page)
4th I clicked on internet update , a window opens and shows me the following message:

ClamAV update process started at Thu Aug 19 20:24:28 2010

This test was made with XPsp3-Professional on a Samsung N130 Netbook
The precise same procedure works fine with version 0.96.0.1

Thanks for the fast answer.

Hello,
I tried your new Version 0.96.2 and want to make it portable. I used your guide and the according config-file. All works fine til the update. Here is the report:
It was produced by the portable version, but with the installed version its the same but with different paths.

I have experienced the same problem with my first attempted ClamWin standalone (0.96.2.1).
I solved this issue by editing the ClamWin.conf file in order to obtain a tree structure as follows:

\path\CW\Clamwin\bin
\path\CW\Clamwin\lib
\path\CW\.DB
\path\CW\.quarantine

e.g. C:\Program files\CW\Clamwin\etc. [the drive letter can be omitted]

It seems that the database folder can't reside in the Clamwin directory.

it's an upstream bug, even unix version is affected [relative db path]
I'll wait for a fix or make a workaround

I found a temporary solution for this problem.

Go inside your database folder and create another folder with the same name. i.e. C:\ClamWin\db\db

It seems that the program first changes working directory to the first db folder and then tries to create temporary files at the relative location:
db\clamav-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.clamtmp
