Hello to you all.
I have experienced the same problem with my first attempted ClamWin standalone (0.96.2.1). I solved this issue by editing the ClamWin.conf file in order to obtain a tree structure as follows: \path\CW\Clamwin\bin \path\CW\Clamwin\lib \path\CW\.DB \path\CW\.quarantine e.g. C:\Program files\CW\Clamwin\etc. [the drive letter can be omitted] It seems that the database folder can't reside in the Clamwin directory. |

I'm still not at home yet, I'll check it asap

it's an upstream bug, even unix version is affected [relative db path]
I'll wait for a fix or make a workaround |

I found a temporary solution for this problem.
Go inside your database folder and create another folder with the same name. i.e. C:\ClamWin\db\db It seems that the program first changes working directory to the first db folder and then tries to create temporary files at the relative location: db\clamav-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.clamtmp |
