Hello,

I recently installed ClamWin and I notice my configuration box does not have a tab for Archive files. Is there something special I need to do to add this? Thanks Joni

There is a configuration tab for Limits, where you can select/de-select to scan archive files. Perhaps that is what you need.

Ok, I looked at that and it does say to extract files from Archives but sets a limit as to the size of the files. SO, there I am lost. Also, It says to not scan files over 100 megabytes and I am not sure that number is large enough. I suppose that is a default number
I was just curious as to why they show a tab for Archives in the installation instructions but I don't have it. Thanks for the reply...Joni

You are generally okay if you accept the default configuration that comes with ClamWin. After you use it for a while, you may want to tweak it a little for your personal use.

Viruses are not generally going to be found in large files--they try not to be too visible. However, some very large archive files can contain "logic bombs," which tie up your computer resources and make it churn on forever. That's probably why ClamWin is set at where it is for archive file size.
