Running from a write protected USB Stick

I´m using Clamwin Portable from a Buffalo USB Stick, that has a write protection switch (hardware-based). It would be great to write-protect the stick and then plug it into a potentially infected PC. Unfortunately Clamwin does not work with write-protection enabled. When I start the software it says "the software hasn´t been configured yet". I can say "no" then but then the "scan" button is disabled (grey).

Is there a work around or is this a feature suggestion / bug fix now? Wink

Thanks!

run it once to let it configure itself (or better yet regularly to update the virus database) on a clean PC with writing enabled, then lock it and use on a potentially infected PC.

That´s not working. I already used the software on several PCs (with no write-protection). The software is already configured, at least it does not ask when protection is disabled.
