I wanted to test out my Antivirus software today, so i went to download a infected file on limewire today. It appears to be a typical .mp3 music file, but it's actually infected. I used my AVG 8.0 to scan it, and found the infection "Wimad.E"



Yes. Mm, but when i used my ClamWin AV (Which was my secondary scanner) to scan the same file, it was unable to detect the infection.



Was that a loophole of ClamWin?

clamav/clamwin currently does not scan media files, just avoid use windows media player to play you music

actually it's not a virus, it's a media file renamed .mp3 (wmp will complain about this)
then it spawns a browser to download a file named PLAY_MP3.exe
I've just submitted the file to clamav team
