It is my understanding that there was some inefficient programming in the use of the Clam signature database and the scanning algorithm, compounded by the increased size of the ever-growing signatures (now 140,000+). Some concerned users brought it to light and suggested the improvement(s). Clam corrected it quickly, and it took some time for it to be incorporated into ClamWin.

Please continuing/testing ClamWin and notify the developers promptly of any problems. With user help, ClamWin will become a competitive alternative to the bloated, out-of-touch commercial antivirus software.

I couldn't agree more!

Just did a few extra tests and everything seems to be rock solid now. Tomorrow I put ClamWin back in charge of our mail scanning.

Cheers, Bob

Hi,
I'm new to clamscan and to this forum. I got exactly the same problem described in this thread, as if it were not solved in the releases from 0.90 to 0.94.
I did install a web server with Win2003, hmailserver and ClamAV. At beginning it seemed a good solution, but now I had to switch off the scanning due to the 100% CPU usage - too bad, since I had 4 viruses out of 285 message only today.
Any solutions to this topic??
TIA
Claudio Giorgi

What are my available upgrade options for my cpu? I have an Intel Corporation D975XBX2 motherboard. I am currently using a dual core 2.4 ghz processor in it. I am wondering what are my available upgrades I can upgrade my cpu to. My computer is decked right now but my processor isn't up to par with my specifications. I was looking around a 2.8 ghz. I want to know if I can add more cores to it or what duo cores can I switch them with (compatible ones). Thanks.
